This is the latest edition to the Nautilus family from Patek Philippe. This steel watch gives the perfect balance between utilitarian function and elegant design. The original Nautilus design now incorporates a chronograph coupled with the very useful travel time feature; this feature enables rapid reading and resetting of both home and local time zones.
The automatic movement is visible through the sapphire crystal back. It is fitted with a degraded black ribbed dial in the classic Nautilus style.
The watch is complete with all correct boxes and paperwork, including Certificate of Origin and instructions, as one would receive with a brand new watch.
The original Nautilus was designed by Gerald Genta in the mid 1970s to compete directly with Audemars Piguets’ Royal Oak (which of course he also designed). This was a time of great change within the watch industry where the concept of a luxury watch in steel was a truly revolutionary idea. These Nautilus watches from the 1970s and 1980s are now cherished by collectors and command very high prices in the vintage market.
This year being the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Nautilus means there is huge interest in this now iconic design. The complex case and movement of these watches means that production is necessarily limited and demand always exceeds supply.
To note: Although from 2016, there are very small signs of wear, such as on the bezel (as visible in photos) and light micro-scratches to the bracelet, consistent with normal wear. Overall the watch is in excellent condition.
Our preowned watches have all undergone thorough mechanical inspections, including being ultrasonically cleaned, polished, resealed if appropriate and tested for at least four days, to ensure they meet our highest timekeeping standards.
All watches are either covered by a full, or a limited twelve month warranty. For example, due to their age, some vintage watches should not be subjected to the same conditions as when they were new. Please see our Terms & Conditions for further information.
