The watches in the Casablanca series hold a special position in the wider Cintrée Curvex collection. Unlike the standard models, Casablanca watches do without any fancy complications and intricate embellishments. Instead, they capture the imagination with their simple elegance.

As a member of the Cintrée Curvex family, Franck Muller designs each Casablanca timepiece around its domed tonneau (barrel-shaped) case. The watches also feature the brand's iconic stylized numerals on their dials. Thanks to its sword hands, the Casablanca boasts improved readability and graceful restraint – something lacking in the rest of the Cintrée Curvex collection.

Three-hand watches make up a majority of the Casablanca line. However, Franck Muller does offer a few chronograph editions. Both versions are available with or without a date display. Three-hand models dominate the Casablanca series. However, the color and size options are as varied as the range of prices. For example, one of the more affordable Casablanca bears the reference number 5850. This watch features a 32 x 45-mm stainless steel case and a matte black dial that serves as the perfect contrast to the luminous white hands and numerals. It costs about 3,900 USD new and a few hundred dollars less pre-owned.

At first glance, you could easily mistake the ref. 6850 for the ref. 5850. They both have black dials, white numerals and hands, and polished stainless steel cases. However, the former is quite a bit larger at 34 x 47 mm. Prices depend on the condition and fall between 3,400 and 3,900 USD.

For something even larger, Franck Muller offers the ref. 8880 C BD 10th Anniversary edition. It has the same combination of polished stainless steel, a black dial, and white numerals, but comes in a massive 40 x 55-mm case. This model also stands out thanks to a decorative number "10" in a laurel wreath above 6 o'clock. You can call this watch your own for around 4,300 USD.

Three-Hand Watches With a Date Display

You'll also find three-hand Casablanca watches with a round date display at 6 o'clock. One example is the ref. 8880 C DT with a black dial. This model demands about 7,900 USD in mint condition and 5,200 USD pre-owned. The same watch with a white dial sells for between 5,400 and 6,100 USD.

Franck Muller produces a stainless steel Casablanca with a matte black PVD coating and matching matte black dial under the reference number 8880 C DT NR. You can choose from five different color options for the numerals and hands: white, red, blue, green, or yellow. Never-worn pieces cost around 6,400 USD, while used watches change hands for roughly 4,900 USD.

Gold Three-Hand Watches

In addition to stainless steel, there are also Casablanca watches in 18-karat yellow, white, or rose gold. Each is available with a black, white, or matching golden dial. Most of the white and golden dials feature guilloché engraving, which adds a beautiful sense of refinement.

Gold Casablanca watches come in all the same sizes as their stainless steel counterparts. Prices depend on the exact model and its condition and range from 3,600 to 12,000 USD.

Franck Muller's designers made sure to maintain the series' simple, classic looks and exceptional readability when crafting the Casablanca chronograph. A circular minute track sits within the numerals. It also contains a high-precision seconds scale that enables you to measure times to within one-quarter of a second. The subdials at 3 and 9 o'clock serve as a minute counter and small seconds, respectively. Finally, select models also come with a date display at 6 o'clock.

Those with narrower wrists should take a closer look at the ref. 5850 C CC. Its case is a moderate 32 x 44 mm and comes in your choice of stainless steel, white gold, or yellow gold. This model lacks a date display and, thus, feels especially tidy and uncluttered. A well-maintained stainless steel edition will set you back about 5,500 USD. If you'd prefer a gold watch, that price increases to 8,200 USD.

The Casablanca chronograph ref. 8880 C CC DT is significantly larger at 39 x 55 mm. It is also available in stainless steel and different shades of gold. Moreover, this version comes with Franck Muller's characteristic round date display at 6 o'clock. The material and condition have a major influence on the price, which can be anywhere from 6,600 to 17,500 USD. Fans of black watches should enjoy the ref. 8885 C CC DT NR. From a technological perspective, it is identical to the ref. 8880 C CC DT; however, its stainless steel case boasts a black PVD coating. Known as the "Black Casa," this chronograph demands prices between 5,800 and 9,900 USD.
