Oris Divers

Oris announced the first Divers Sixty-Five models at Baselworld 2015. They based the design of these 40-mm timepieces on Oris' legendary diving watches from 1965. Defining features of the vintage models include a rotating bezel, a depth rating of 100 m (10 bar, 328 ft), and luminous indices and Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. Released 50 years later, the newer versions retain many of these details but benefit from modern technology and scratch-resistant sapphire glass.

At Baselworld 2016, Oris introduced a second line to the Divers collection. These watches are 42 mm in diameter and feature dot indices. Each model houses an automatic Swiss caliber from ETA or Sellita. Oris modifies these movements in house and equips them with their trademark red rotor.

Oris further expanded the collection in 2017 and 2018. These models measure 36 and 40 mm in diameter. The Swiss manufacturer has begun using bronze in their top models. This unique material appears on the bezels and the middle links of the stainless steel bracelets. Regardless of the material, each watch is available on a stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap. The straps are available in a wide range of colors. The dials, indices, and hands also vary in color. The collection contains over 50 three-hand watches and offers something for every taste and budget. There are also special editions, such as the Sixty-Five Movember Edition and the Divers Sixty-Five World Cleanup Day edition. The former debuted in 2017 and is the result of a collaboration between Oris and the Movember Foundation. On the other hand, the World Cleanup Day model promotes the fight against solid waste pollution and features a strap made of post-consumer recycled r-Radyarn®.

The Divers Sixty-Five collection also contains a selection of chronographs, each measuring 43 mm in diameter. There's the Carl Brashear Limited Edition with a bronze case, the Bucherer Blue Edition, and the standard Divers Sixty-Five chronograph.

Oris launched the first bronze Divers Sixty-Five in 2016 in honor of Carl Brashear , who passed away in 2006. Brashear made history as the first African-American diver in the US Navy. The three-hand version measures 42 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to 100 m (10 bar, 328 ft). Only 2,000 copies exist of this timepiece. The Oris caliber 733 ticks away beneath the black dial. Oris outfits this model with the caliber 771, which is based on the Sellita SW510. Central hands for the hour, minutes, and chronograph seconds rotate on a deep blue dial. There's also a small seconds at 9 o'clock and a 30-minute counter at 3. The polished stainless steel case back features a special engraving that pays tribute to Mr. Brashear. So-called "old radium" SuperLuminova coats the hands and indices. This chronograph watch comes on a brown leather strap and costs between 3,400 and 3,900 USD.

The standard edition Oris Sixty-Five Chronograph is technologically identical to the Carl Brashear version. However, it has a stainless steel case with a bronze bezel and a black dial. The 36-mm Oris models are designed for individuals with smaller wrists. These watches only have 17 mm of space between their lugs. You can choose from different editions on a stainless steel bracelet, leather strap, rubber strap, or textile NATO strap. The top model features a bronze bezel with a black aluminum inlay. This version also has a date display at 3 o'clock and costs anywhere from 1,600 to 2,300 USD.

Oris diving watches from 1965 served as the blueprint for the original Divers models. These watches are available with a blue or black dial. Arabic numerals mark the hours at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, with line indices made of SuperLuminova indicating the other hours. The date display sits at 6 o'clock.
