The 70s-Style Rolex Newcomer
In spring 2025, Rolex surprised the public with a completely new collection: the Land-Dweller. These are sporty three-hand dress watches with a date complication and an integrated bracelet. They’re an interesting alternative to classics such as the Datejust or the Oyster Perpetual Datejust.
Rolex drew inspiration for the design from its extensive catalog of timepieces. The case’s angular lugs are reminiscent of the Oysterquartz that Rolex offered in the 1970s and 80s. The new five-link bracelet with its flat links, called the Flat Jubilee bracelet, also borrows from the Oysterquartz. Rolex equips the new bracelet with a Crownclasp, which Rolex fans will know from the iconic Day-Date.
The honeycomb-structured dial, the hands, the fluted bezel, and the date display under the Cyclops lens all borrow from the Datejust. The large luminescent numerals at 6 and 9 o'clock also give the watch a touch of the Rolex Explorer.
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the watch is the brand-new Caliber 7135, which is not only the first Rolex movement to operate at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), but also features the newly developed Dynapulse escapement which, according to Rolex, is significantly superior to the traditional Swiss lever escapement. Many of the movement’s components are made of silicon, making the watch highly resistant to temperature fluctuations and magnetic fields. Like all Rolex calibers, the 7135 is certified as a "Superlative Chronometer," ensuring a maximum rate deviation of -/+ 2 seconds per day. In an uncustomary move for Rolex, the movement can be viewed through a sapphire crystal display case back.

How much does a Rolex Land-Dweller cost?
Rolex positions the Land-Dweller roughly between the Datejust and the Day-Date in terms of price. The list price for the 36-mm stainless steel model in April 2025 is $13,900. The 40-mm counterpart, on the other hand, officially costs $14,900.
If you prefer a Land-Dweller made of precious metal, you can choose between watches made of Everose gold for $42,100 (36 mm) or $46,100 (40 mm), and platinum models, which cost $59,200 for the 36-mm model or $63,500 for the 40-mm version.
You can also buy the rose gold and platinum versions of the Land-Dweller with diamond-set bezels. In this case, plan on list prices of between approximately $90,000 and $117,000, depending on the respective timepiece’s size and material.
At the time of writing in April 2025, there were no listings of the Rolex Land-Dweller on the Chrono24 marketplace. We can therefore only speculate about possible market prices. However, as with all Rolex watches, it can be assumed that the prices on the secondary market will be higher than the list prices.
Sizes, material, and dial variants of the Rolex Land-Dweller
Rolex offers the Land-Dweller as of spring 2025 in three material variants: stainless steel, Everose gold, and platinum. For watches made of precious metal, you also have the choice between versions with the typical Rolex fluted bezel or a bezel set with diamonds.
The Land-Dweller is available in a diameter of 36 mm or 40 mm, which makes it interesting for both men and women.
Rolex equips the Land-Dweller with dials featuring a laser-engraved honeycomb pattern. Color options include deep white for the stainless steel and Everose gold watches, and ice blue for the platinum versions. The diamond bezel models feature ten additional baguette-cut diamonds on their dials which serve as hour markers.
