Day-Dates with stone dials are something magical and every time I may offer one of these watches new my heart jumps. These watches have a charisma that must be experienced. Due to the individuality of the stone, each of these watches is unique and through the fine lines, structures and also the asymmetry of these stone features, these watches create a liveliness that no normal sheet can produce.

The case of this watch is simply perfect. Absolutely unpolished, with perfect proportions, wonderful sharp edges and again equally perfect matte finish leave absolutely nothing to be desired.

This watch has seen very little wear in the last thirty years and therefore shows a slight discoloration of the gold. This discoloration is caused by the copper content in the alloy and makes the watch tend to red gold in color. Wonderful to look at and another mark of the quality of this watch.

Oh and also the push cover underlines the quality of this beauty. The green back cover sticker is wonderfully intact with clearly legible reference number 18238.

The Howlite stone dial is the aforementioned highlight of this watch. Howlite is a mineral from the borate family. Originally it was sold to Mappin & Webb Ltd. in England (lc 160). Part of the delivery is also the Oyster booklet, as well as the original box with outer box (not on the picture).
